Magnetic Lash Vs Extensions. Who wins?

Category:

Who does not like long, full, pretty and voluminous eyelashes?

From eyelash curler to mascara, to false lashes to lash extensions.

The options seem endless. And with each passing year, there seems to be more innovation for women to get their lash fix.

But new does not mean better. The question is, "Which is better?"

Today we shall pit our trusty magnetic lash with lash extensions.

Now even though we primarily sell magnetic lash and, maybe slightly bias. This one is a close fight.

Read on and decide for yourself...

Which is better? Magnetic lash or lash extensions?

Lash Extensions

Faux lashes mostly made of silk, mink or synthetic are applied to each individual eyelash. This may sound like a painstaking task. But it is necessary to achieve a natural look.

And as the name suggests, it is an extension to your natural lashes. Once it is on, it saves you the hassle of applying false lashes every time you head out.

Pros

  • They do not fall off easily.
  • No hassle of applying mascara.
  • Lash extensions last for about 4 weeks, depending on your level of care.
  • Saves you time for getting those falsies or even applying mascara.
  • Choose from a variety of hair type and length.

Cons

  • Is expensive because it requires professional consultation and application.
  • You need to be very careful to not rub your eyes, as the lashes can fall out.
  • You can get an eye infection due to poor application or sanitary conditions especially if you do it for cheap.
  • Refills are needed every 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Appointments are time-consuming. 2 - 3 hours are needed for a single sitting. Unlike getting your hair done, where you can still check your phone, you cannot do anything during lash extensions.

Magnetic Lashes

This needs no introduction. They are the newest innovation in the beauty industry. What used to be a difficult task of putting on false lashes with glue is now easy.

Magnetic lashes use magnets instead of glue. Glue is the main culprit why false lashes are difficult to put on.

With magnetic lash, you simply draw the magnetic eyeliner onto your lash line and snap the magnetic lashes in place. Easy, quick and hassle-free.

Pros

  • They are easy to put on. If you have never put on false lashes successfully, you can now.
  • They are quick to put on. You do not need to sit through a 3-hour session like lash extensions every month.
  •  They are cheaper than lash extensions.
  • They can be used more than once. Depending on your level of care, up to 25 times.
  • They are more hygienic. Sediment and debris do not stick on your eyes as there is no glue.
  • They are easy to clean and remove at the end of the day. No icky glue.
  • You can choose from a variety of styles and lengths. It is more flexible in trying different looks.
  • There is minimal damage to your natural lashes compared to lash extensions.

Cons

  • You still need to learn how to put them on. Unlike lash extension which is done for you.
  • You may need to trim the lashes to fit your eye shape if the lashes are too long.
  • They are less natural-looking compared to lash extensions.
  • You need to remove them at the end of the day. Unlike lash extension where you wear them permanently.

So which one to choose?

The answer is, it depends. Depends on your time constraints. Your budget. And also your lifestyle.

Some women like flexibility. Only put in more effort into their makeup for special occasions. On normal days, they prefer something subtle. In this case, magnetic lashes are more flexible and suitable for their lifestyle.

Some women don't mind the cost and monthly time investment for lash extensions. They prefer someone to put it on for them. They might not be comfortable with their own makeup skills too. In this case, lash extensions are suitable for them.

Regardless of what your choices are, it depends on what your needs are. Your budget, your lifestyle, time constraints and comfort level with makeup.

Of course, if you ask us, our preference is always magnetic lashes.
